nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; Juvenile crime and delinquency can be considered as one of the major problems experienced in the world today. In most cases, the intensity and gravity of the situation committed by offenders varies across social, economic, and cultural conditions of any country. However through time, as the United Nations reported in 1995, there is an increase in juvenile delinquency together with poverty, and especially in poor countries. Most youth offenders are street children. Some of the youth who have committed crimes are either exposed to violence themselves, or even as victims of violence. Juvenile delinquency can also arise because of lack of basic education. Maybe their families are also not present or distant to them that is why they have no guidance towards the right things to do.

Most youth offenders have their social and economic environment characterized with poverty and isolation.nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp; The goal to provide a solution to juvenile delinquency is not in the hands of the criminal justice system alone. Of the best approaches to solve this problem, prevention of youth delinquency should include measures which give the youth support in terms of equality and justice. Measures should also be taken to rid poverty, as idealistic as it may sound, and to reduce the manner by which the youth feels isolated and alone.nbsp;

Approaches in dealing with juvenile delinquency

nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;My suggestions as to how we can provide solution to this problem are explained in three generalized concepts. First, preventive measures should be taken by the government and other sectors responsible with the welfare of the youth. The problem should be prioritized and given enough attention by the government.

Included in preventive measures are policies and programs which will help the youth deal and ultimately avoid being delinquent. One of the main concerns when dealing with juvenile delinquency is that most of the youth who are charged with crimes are poor or who grew up seeing violence. The government can help in providing opportunities for the youth such as institutions which will provide them with education, employment, and even things they can do for fun.

Programs can also be made to ensure that the youth can approach people when they have problems from home or anything else.nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp; Second, if violence is one of the primary reasons why and how the youth engage in juvenile delinquency, policies and programs should address this with ways in which the youth can protect themselves (if they are victims), or avoid them (if they promote violence). the government should also be careful about the criminal justice system and the policies imposed to juvenile delinquency because as adults, they should be able to promote tolerance and better understanding among the youth. The criminal justice system should be eradicated with issues such as racism, racial discrimination and other social problems. nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp; Third, if preventive measures are in place, there should also be rehabilitation efforts for those who have a criminal record in the past. Rehabilitation means that social

institutions are made to give support to those youth who have committed crimes in the past and be able to prevent them from doing the same mistakes again. For those who have been accused before, I could only imagine how they feel about changing their behavior into something good.

It is not easy for them. Programs and services should be available to correct these mistakes of juvenile delinquency.nbsp; nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp; The youth is vulnerable to committing juvenile delinquency because of many other factors aside from what I have mentioned. But as the government and other sectors in the society should consider, their role is to ultimately protect the nbsp;rights of the youth by forming policies and programs to help them deal and provide solution to the problem of juvenile delinquency.

By placing rehabilitation programs, preventive measures, avoiding violence, and rehabilitation programs, we can maybe solve the problem of juvenile delinquency.nbsp;
